The Midland Circuit is committed to promoting diversity in the legal sector and encouraging underrepresented candidates to pursue a career at the Bar. With that aim in mind, the Midland Circuit is offering a scholarship of up to £9,000. In the event of multiple successful candidates, the panel will consider the appropriate apportionment, which will contribute to the Bar course.
Successful candidates will be determined on merit, financial need and their links to the Midlands.
We therefore invite candidates to provide relevant details regarding personal background; their connection to the area and why they wish to practice on circuit. This information will be considered alongside the answers to the competency questions.
APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS
For those studying law, or undertaking the GDL, and wishing to undertake the BPC. The university currently attended need not be in the Midlands, but a strong link to the Midlands is required and must be evidenced within the application form. We particularly welcome applications from black or minority ethnic candidates, or those with disabilities, who are currently underrepresented at the Bar.
