As part of our shared ambition to support and engage with the region’s emerging talent, we are delighted to be working with the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) to provide 10 final year Undergraduate/Masters/PhD candidates with funded delegate passes to attend the Centre for the New Midlands ‘Connections for Prosperity’ Conference on 17th July at Edgbaston Stadium, Birmingham. We have an action packed programme for THE policy conference for the West Midlands region and further information on who will be joining us to share their insights is available by clicking here.

This competitive scholarship (made possible thanks to funding from the WMCA) is open to students who are studying at West Midlands’ universities (or who are based in the West Midlands) and looking for a career within infrastructure (Transport, Energy, Water, Housing, Built environment, Digital, Natural systems, Skills or Innovation) or have a specific interest in careers within public affairs/public policy.

What does the scholarship include?

  • The scholarship provides the successful applicants with the opportunity to engage with a significant number of the region’s key policy makers and leading figures from business and community organisations
  • The successful applicants will gain a better understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the West Midlands region and the role that devolution is playing in the region’s governance

How do students apply?

  • To apply for a ‘Future Talent Scholarship’ to attend the Conference, students need to complete the form at the bottom of this webpage

  • Applications are now open and will close at midnight on Sunday 22nd June
  • Please note that all applications will be considered by the Conference’s Steering Group who will notify successful applicants of the Group’s decisions by Wednesday 25th June
