Interested in CleanTech start-ups and VCs? Keen to meet other entrepreneurial students from global business schools? Want to enter the challenge with your own start-up next year?

London Business School is delighted to announce that we are hosting our annual flagship LBS x UCL CleanTech Challenge in April 2023 and would love for your school to participate!

Powered by Gore Street Capital, the CleanTech Challenge will be offering the winning team £20,000!

What is the CleanTech Challenge (CTC)?

CTC is a global innovation and business plan competition that serves as a launchpad for cleantech business ideas. Teams of students across the globe develop a cleantech business idea over 3 months and compete for a chance to pitch their idea to win £20,000 toward developing their business.

  • Jan 9th: Competition Kick-Off and Welcome Event (Virtual)
  • February 3rd: Submission deadline for CTC Team and Business Idea. Submit a 200-word pitch clearly outlining (i) the idea, (ii) cleantech impact, and (iii) why it would be commercially viable.
  • March 10th: Submission deadline for Business Idea pitch deck.
  • April 19th and 20th: Finalist Bootcamp hosted at London Business School. Top 10 teams will meet with mentors to refine their pitch decks and respond to the competition’s challenge question. 2nd day will offer teams an opportunity to present their pitch to the judges panel and winners will receive the cash prize of £20,000.

Who can participate?

The Challenge is open to all current university students (undergraduate and postgraduate) enrolled in a degree programme at a recognised Higher Education Institution anywhere in the world as of 1 January 2023. Students can create teams of 2-5 people.
