I’m delighted to announce Registrations are now OPEN for EDT Placements: The Year in Industry (YINI) scheme for 2021/22placements!

YINI is a not-for-profit organisation offering Undergraduates a free resource when searching for a year out paid placement during their penultimate year. We have a wide range of placements available working in one of the following industries: Science (particularly physics), Engineering (all areas), Technology/Electronics, Maths, Business, Finance, IT, HR or Marketing across top UK companies such as: Network Rail, Scottish Power, Procter & Gamble, EDF Energy, as well as SMEs and start up R&D companies.

YINI placements are a fantastic way for undergrad students to increase and improve their employability skills through relevant work experience, build links with employers. As well as having the opportunity to gain Platinum Level accreditation through the Industrial Cadet (IC) programme. There is also the opportunity to develop Work-Ready skills through the YINI Master Class Workshops. All while being supported by YINI and a YINI assigned Mentor throughout their placement.

YINI is open to any student with the Right to Work in the UK, who is seeking;

  • A paid placement lasting 12 months
  • A placement usually taken in the penultimate year of their degree (or a placement taken & completed before graduation, depending on the University’s placement process)
