Following Monday’s statement from the Prime Minister regarding freedom of movement, which will affect the operational and ethical delivery of the WSI 2020 programme, it is no longer possible to deliver a safe and high-quality internship experience to students and internship providers.

With safeguarding health as our number one priority during this period of uncertainty, Student Opportunity have made a difficult decision – to withdraw this summer’s Warwick Summer Internship programme (WSI). This decision has been reached due to the sheer amount of change happening on a day-to-day basis, and the need for interns to attend their place of work to show Right to Work documents before commencing work (even if then remote working). We do not want to raise expectations about the eventual delivery of the programme, only to have to cancel at a later stage.

We appreciate that you will have spent considerable effort and time on the programme, and for that we apologise. Please go to WSI website:
warwick.ac.uk/workexperience/wsi for the full communication details on WSI 2020 cancellation.

We wish you and your loved ones the very best over the coming weeks,
Internships Development Team
